wearable equipment?

Post by Ianus »

hmm, my monk doesnt impress me all that much
so i´m thinking of starting over (with a class that can HOPE to come close to the Nameless One in coolness)
It would obviously have to be a sort of Fighter/Mage, so the good old lame Kensai comes to mind.
Some questions regarding wearable equipment and such so I can plan accordingly :
- can Kensai wear Helmets (or those Ioun stones) ?
- can a Kensai/Mage wear ROBES ?
- does the Kensai´s innate initiative bonus apply to spellcasting too or only melee ?

Robes don´t seem to count as armor for mages, and the Kensai description forbids gauntlets and bracers but not helmets.

Sorry for posting just another useless Kensai/Mage question Image , but I searched the board quite a bit and didn´t find satisfactory answers.

A kensai can wear ioun stones and robes as these doesn't count as armour. The iniative bonus are for weapons only and usually of minor importance. Use the barkskin spell, cast by Jaheira, for your kensai until he or she finds a good ac boosting robe (Robe of vecna is the most popular but the robe of the apprenti gives the lowest AC).
