Hawkeye
Hawkeye
Has anyone become a Ranger Lord and with the Hawkeye skill killed anyone with a single arrow? I am starting the game over and don't know if this third teir class is worth trying.
Just a follow up in case anybody thinking of obtaining the Ranger Lord Hawkeye promotion reads this thread. I am going thru the game for the second time. I completed the Ranger Lord promotion. Before I entered the Tomb of Souls I had reached the 10th level of Hawkeye and have the Necrotic Battle Bow 4-9. I am going thru the Shadow Ruins now and have just completed the Wind jumping area where you can sit back and at leisure shoot the Athena Bashers. Just before entering the Wind jumping area I put the necessary 3215360 adv points to climb to Hawkeye level 11. Even so at no time have I dealt a killing blow with my bow. I wear down an opponent with anywhere between 4 and 9 attack points just like every other battle you face. If at level 11 Hawkeye you can't deliver one killing blow my suggestion is to skip the Ranger Lord promotion as I see no value to it. By the way I am not bashing the game. I know even playing version 1.3 there are a few bugs in the game but all in all I have enjoyed the game very much and intend to go thru it again as another character. I was just disappointed that this feature did not see to work or is unclear in how to activate the killing blow.
There are unfortuneately alot of unfinished features in the game. Obiously, you have unfinished skills, unactivated heraldries, and incomplete/inactive spell lists. A popular saying is that this game is still beta. I can't agree there, as even in beta there wouldn't be this much stuff that hasn't been implemented.
It is sad to say, but unless there is something serious here shortly, I will most likely not purchase another game by these companies. To have released something in this condition shows a lack of commitment, despite their efforts to patch the problems. Yes, while they finally got the automap feature up, that was small and in reality relatively unimportant when compared to the items mentioned above, since they are major points in the game. Sure, you can play through without them, but to advertise something like this and then turn around and sell an incomplete product says something about the company goals.
Sure, I had some fun with the game, but unfortuneately the game lack of advertised features, and obvious bugs really makes it hard to want to play the game more often.

Well said. I fully agree. While I really like this game, too much was left unfinished.
Sacred: Underworld anyone?

Hawkeye works in CE 1.5, but...I got my RangerLord's Dexterity up to 109 before I became fully aware of the strike bug as being the source why I couldn't hit anything. So I just don't play this character anymore...tis a shame.
Hawkeye at level 10-11 usually kicks in, even on Moonbeasts, but Hawkeye usually only kicks in when the health of a Moonbeast is in the lower percentile of the orange color...and Hawkeye's effect ocurs more often in the red color zone of the Moonbeast's health.
Because of the strike bug, I started using a Nether-based shuriken found in that shack after beating 'Mog and company'...and I hit more often than with a non-magic long-ranged weapon. But, gave up on this character as I wanted to look like a Ranger and not a ninja...oh, well. *sigh*
And by the way, the Special Heraldry for the RangerLord says +25% more damage and more speed to bows...but, it also works for all ranged weapons (ie:shurikens, thrown daggers). But, I feel silly using a shuriken when my whole intent was to look like a Ranger with Bow. But, whatever.
