a glitch? bug?

Post by Jetlar »

i recently found the cheats for BG2. Having a look at them, i found the one for exp. I wanted to see how many spell slots i would have at the end of the game so i lvl my elf mage to max exp. However when i came to lvl nine spells lo and behold, there was no slots. at all. None whatsoever. is this because i used the cheats? Or is it impossible to get ninth lvl spells without removing the exp cap? please help

It is impossible to memorise lvl 9 spells without removing the exp.cap.

The highest lvl. you mage/sorcere can attain is lvl. 17 wich gives lvl. 8 spells.

I believe Xandax is wrong. I have level nine spells with my mage and I never used an experience cap remover. I did however use shadowkeeper to set my intelligence to 25 and thus my mage can memorize and cast level 9 spells. Its cheap but effective.

Azeroth i believe you cap out 50,000 below what you need to level up to 18 level mage. The cap(without using a cap remover) is 2950000.I believe your INT only has to do with the number of spells you can have in your spell book. Also you have to be 18 level mage to cast 9th level spells out of your book(you can cast all 9th level scrolls but you know this).

so what you're saying is that even though you can memorize lv9 spells, you still can't cast them? even by using Shadowkeeper and jacking your Int. to an 11, er, 25 then in theory at least you should be able to still cast that high. In theory.
