blocking

im a noob and my instructions booklet for the xbox version doesnt tell me how to block, so does anyone know how to.

I don't know about X Box, but with the PC version, you simply equip a shield on your character, and they just do it naturally while in melee combat. Of course, how successful you are at blocking depends on your skill level. The higher the level, the better the chances of thwarting an attack.

It works the same way on the X-Box version. It's automatic.

It might help if the shield is closer to where the enemy is attacking from. I think I managed to block more when my shield was in front rather than at the side.
