Shadow Ruins Help

Im stuck in the shadow ruins, and ive come to where you have to place two shadow stones in the back of the two stone statues near the beggining of the level. so i was reading you have to go to the shadow islands and find some secret chest and it has a shadow stone in it. Well WHAT set of island am i supposed to go to? there are like 4 island sets. what does the chest look like? apparently its very hidden. How do i get to it?

I can't tell. Have you actually made it inside the shadow stones area, or are you stuck outside because you can't find shadow stones for the two statues?

If it's the latter, then look here and find the shadow stones at #4. (If you used the shadow stones from #4 in the chessboard, then you're screwed.)

If it's the former, then look here and... I don't know, read more carefully or something.
