Problems with some NPCs (Chapter 2 Spoilers)
Problems with some NPCs (Chapter 2 Spoilers)
I'm having problems with Wanev surrendering. I've tried leaving him with minimal hit points, but that moron doesn't want to surrender. I've even tried loading previous saves, where I haven't entered his tower yet, but he still fights to death. Another problem is realy similar to the first one. After accepting the quest from the farmer O'Deel, I can't make Silverback surrender. The last thing is with the Erik's mother brooch. Simply, there is no dialogue 'bout the brooch when speaking to Constance. Everytime when I speak with Erik again, he behavies like he haven't met me before. So, when I taunted Constance and took the brooch, Erik still asked me what am I doing in his room. I have played Neverwinter Nights 4 times, but I haven't had such problems before. I tried reinstaling, patching, but nothing helps. Maybe there is a command available in the console to activate the dialogue scripts?
Characters surrendering can sometimes be a problem. They need to get to a certain amount of hit-points before they surrender and sometimes you can go past this state and kill them. Keep trying and maybe switch to a weaker weapon/spell when he gets to badly wounded/near death.
Your other two questions relate to high Persuasion skills. I think the brooch can be bought though. Does the brooch quest appear in your journal?

Actualy, it was the first thing I've tried, but literaly he fights till he dies. I attacked him with the tricks from the 0 level. The same thing with Silverback.

I have persude at 12. I don't think it depends on persuade skill, coz actualy there is nothing to persuade with them. Constance doesn't have any dialogue available concerning the brooche. And everytime I visit Erik, he behavies as we didn't meet each other and asks me for this favor again. I've loaded previous saves and still after agreeing to solve Eriks problem, I have only an entry in my journal (dunno if it's that, but it's written there that I only found that Erik has problems and there isn't mentioned that I accepted to help). Anyways, I've got through the whole game several times and I know it's not necessary to do those quests. However, my hero is always "Mr. Goody" and it needs to finish every quest. BTW, I used to pass the game with persuade 0 (I've even persuaded easily O'Deel to believe that Silverback won't threat him again).

well... it sometime happens with original compaign that you get the quest but the NPCs do not behave in appropriate manner. they act like you have not got the quest or you do not have their desired items.. i think its a runtime bug and doesn't happen in every game. but the patches do correct these problems. which version are you currently playing??
as far as surrendering is concern, why you so badly want them to surrender

Just chill
I've patched it already to 1658066 Polish version. And as you aks why I want them surrender - well when I play a game (especialy RPG) I must do every quest. As I also said, my hero is all good and lawful, so all quests should be completed in the most peacefull way. BTW, when I played NWN, I haven't patched anything and everything was ok.
