BG2 Saved Games

Post by child_of_bhaal »

I was wondering, if you uninstall Baldur's Gate 2, SOA and TOB, will your saved games still be on the computer?
I need to make space on my computer, and have finished the game, but don't want to lose everything. :(

What I would suggest, and what I usually do, is to copy the save games into a back-up folder somewhere outside the Baldur's Gate II folder.

You can, for example, create a folder such as C:\Backup save games\ , where you would then copy-paste the "save"-folder from the original BG II folder.

I am not sure, however, whether there is a "delete save games" option during the uninstallation. Unchecking this would also save your games, with considerably less effort :)

I'm quite certain that the game does not delete the user-created stuff - characters and saves. But I would copy them too, just to be absolutely sure.

It never hurts to be safe, but I have never had anything missing when I reinstalled.

Okay!
Thanks for the help! I'll just copy the saves into another folder to be certain.
Thanks again!

Unless you 'Deliberatly' Choose to uninstall 'All' optional files, your save games are fine. 'NOTE' this is also true for any 'mod' component you may have added, as if ,if you played TDD and uninstall, you must delete and reinstall, or you new saves are in danger.. :p
