You can either remove the cliff racers or just tone them down depending on which mod you use I think. I never play the game anymore without toning down the wildlife. I don't like to remove any creature totally from the game because it sacrifices some of the feel of the world to me, but I get annoyed taking three steps, kill cliff racer, repeat over and over again. I just mod the game so that the only time they attack is if they're diseased or you get right up on an animal that's likely to be the type to attack anyway. A lot more realistic IMO, and definatly cuts down on how fast you level up skills like Axe, long sword, etc.

Guess what? I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!

One mod is called "Animal Realism"
I think I listed it in the mod sticky thread quite some time ago.
It stops cliff racers, rats, kwama foragers etc. from attacking you unless they are diseased or you attack them first. IMO it makes for more realistic playing, and as BS mentions, it helps to slow your levelling.

Those cliff racers... :D

The first time, I was attacked by them, I had no idea what was happening. I knew my character was getting injured and there was a guard swinging away at something, but it was the first time I played first person view, attacked from the air :D .

How naive I was then... :D

With the editor you could tone down their agression, that's what I did as soon as I figured out how and wow is it peacefull in the air. :D

Seriously, what were they thinking with the Cliff Racers? I couldn't even get to the Ald-ruhn temple without getting killed.

I actually sneak around in the wilderness to avoid cliff racers. :D
As I easily get game sick if my speed level goes up too high, so this works fine by me.

Sneak is a skill which is also easy to improve without cost you anything, if you have patience.

Just go somewhere behind a person (I often use a corner of Mages Guild in Balmora), press Ctrl key (I think--someone correct me if it's wrong), put a weight on the key (I used a diary which happened to be there), leave it. Watch TV, have nice bath, dinner, reading a book or two, and occasionally going back to your pc to check and quick save (just in case you accidentally press wrong key and your 5 hours effort of doing nothing ended up with nothing). After a day of the hard work not using computer, you get sneak skill of 100.

You can hide in shadow right in front of other people, then. :D

lol! I do that too. Or, if I want to run while remaining unseen by the damn things, I use some form of invisibility, quite often a ring/amulet enchanted with constant effect invisibility. Such rings are really useful if you want to get somewhere efficently without stopping for pointless battles.
Or equally, they are handy if you want to explore while still at a low level, without getting the stuffing knocked out of you.

The monsters in the wilderness increase in difficulty at the same time as you level, so most shouldn't be that much of a problem, unless you go into a daedric shrine while you're level 1... :D

What do you have? And for anyone who is reading this and is planning on getting the game, get the PC version it is far worth it.

Well, everyone tells you that Daedric shrines are dangerous, so if you go in there and get killed it's really nothing weird.

What's bad is when you try to go to the temple of Ald-ruhn FOR HEALING, then get killed by cliff racers there.

theres a new mod at the summet called 'kill cliff racers to extinction' it basically makes it so as you kill them they become rarer until their all gone. it was pretty ingenious really.

Guys, lets stay focused, here. This is to help Luis Antonio with his new venture into Morrowind.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
