open chest

Is there a way to open chests/doors without going through the disarm trap/open lock mini-game? My reflexes suck and I keep getting zapped. I'm level 2 with level 1 inspect traps skill. Is there a spell like knock in D.W. bradley's other gamesn like Wiz. 7 and wizards and Warriors?

Miggles, have you tried right-clicking and choose the option to bash?

Yeah, you can only bash or pick the lock. "Inspect" only increases how visible the tumblers are. To make the red bar move more slowly, put more points into "disarm traps," use lockpicks, and/or use crystals of time.

how does bash work?
if a disarm a trap i click on the small icon if the symbols match
but i click all the time if i bash and nothing happens

Use a time Crystal.
