Anyone admit to weapons testing?

Post by Waverly »

How many good aligned characters do a quick save prior to equipping a new weapon or learning a new spell so that they can try it out for size on the townspeople? It really is a good learning tool- find out what works best and how to use it! My thanks go out to the halflings in the Five Flagons for their invaluable help in the testing of my disintegrate spell.
Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time

Heh...I just do the math. With the exception of a few things like the slow effect of the FoA or the stun effect of Celestial Fury it's pretty easy.

If I know it's good, I go try it out on real opponents. Just because it works on a halfling doesn't mean it will work on a dragon or even a goblin.

Recently I've gotten to staging mock battles with summoned creatures. Informative, and very entertaining. That's how I confirmed that the aerial servant is truly the best summoned creature there is, except for perhaps Mordekain's Sword (immune to physical damage). Skeleton warrior ranks second, and its magic resistance is a big plus. Genies suck...unless you make them mad. Then it can suck for you.

That is just plain Evil . Image

Where should I go to try this out? What is the name of the inn that is close to The Den of the Seven Vales. The one with the rich and snobby patrons. Image

Is there anything better than trying out a couple of spells and new weapons on innocent townsfolk.....The Elf-Hater in Waukeens Promenade wasn't so ****y when I used "polymorph other" on him...turning him into a squirrel and then letting my familiar(rabbit) practise some new moves on him.....

Rabbit beats on squirrel, you should put that in the 'best fights' post.

Gruntboy it was a pretty good fight as well.....though my rabbit likes beating the crap out of the cats and dogs in the Slums district better....
