Metal fans (SPAM ONLY FOR TOPIC)

Post by Kipi »

After reading song lyrics -thread I've wondered how many GB members really are metal fans? It would also be interesting to know what bands you listen, how did you start listen metal and so on...

I will start.

I've been metal fan about 2 years. My first contact to metal was Nightwish, which is still very important band to me.
After Nightwish I started to listen Sonata Acrtica, mostly because I knew many Nw fans that also listened Sonata. After that, I listened several bands, some were bad and some were listenable. About 5 months ago I also started to listen Sentenced.

So I listen Nightwish (I have every album), Sonata Arctica (also I own every album), Sentenced, Kilpi, Apocalyptica and Tarot.
At times I also listen other bands, but not so often

Like mr. Holopainen over there!"
- Marco Hietala, the bass player of Nightwish

I started listening to metal 7 years ago. My sisters ex was a ManowaR fan at that time and I found the "Louder than Hell" album on the computer. My list:

Children of Bodom, Griffin, HammerFall, Helloween, Iron Maiden
,Lost Horizon,Luca Turilli,ManowaR, Pagan's Mind, Rhapsody, Sonata Arctica, Yngwie Malmsteen.

I have all the ManowaR albums and DVD's :D . I got at least 1 CD from the rest of the bands.

I'm not very regular on this board, but I've been a metal fan for 15 years. Black Sabbath is still my all time favourite and influence and other classic metal like Maiden too. Otherwise I nowadays like more obscure material like Doom Metal, etc. You could say that I'm bored on mainstream metal, but I still got loads of records from almost every style of heavy music that I still listen sometimes.

I have always loved Ozzy and since about 5 years ago I started listening to heavier things. It started with Black Label Society(Zakk is awesome), then I got into Rammstein and Pantera. I realy dont have a thing for nu-metal. I only realy like metal where the lead singer acutauly sings and dosnt just roar/shout in the microphone. I realy like: BLS, Ozzy, Pantera, Rammstein, Danzig, Dio, ADCDC, Led Zeppelin, MotorHead, and Rob/White Zombie
