Lightsaber addiction and commodity...(semi-spoiler)...

Post by Thran Baill »

Here's a quick point I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on. Does anyone find the somewhat lack of availability of lightsabers in Knights 2, more appealing than the massive amount that you seem to find in Knights 1, at least early in the game?

Now, I am only about 2 planets into the game (not including Telos)...I started out on Dantooine and I'm now on Dxun. In both Knights games, I busted me arse off to get the lightsaber as soon as possible, although I found it a much longer endeavour in Knights 2. I am finding that it was easier to acquire extra sabers in Knights 1 than in the sequel. I am rather happy at this, as well as the extra time it took to make my new saber...it gave me a greater feeling of accomplishment and value.

Now, it just might be that since I am not that far in the game, I am simply missing out on some sabers (I currently have 1 regular sized single hilt, 1 double, and 1 short, all spread out amongst my main character, Visas, and Kreia.).

Does anyone else have the same feeling of needing to get that lightsaber as soon as possible?

Thanks!
Sometimes I do what I want, most of the time, I do what I have to.

I like to get my lightsaber quick, but then like to wait as long as possible to use it because it seems that once you have it, no one but another person who has a lightsaber can contend with you let alone kill you.

As for you only having three lightsabers, it all depends on the random drop system that is in Kotor II. If you play the game again you might have more lightsabers than you know what to do with and in other games you might only ever get three or four. The same can be said for just about every item in the game.

While having a light saber is great fun, the game seemed much more challenging prior to acquiring it. More significantly, I enjoyed the light saber building being somewhat of a "quest." So, I appreciated the longer time without it. Though, like you, I found myself striving to get it at the earlier possible juncture in the game.

I like to not even use the lightsaber, it can be more of a challenge. I only use the lightsaber when my oppenent use one.

I think it makes the game more interesting to have all the non- light-saber weapons. Thelight-sabers have become a little too over-used in Star Wars and it interests me to see alternatives.

I think it would have been good had it not been that you can get more than half your party to wield one in II. That makes it frustrating when I have 5 jedi on the ship and only 4 sabers, of course by the end of teh game you have more than you can use, but if you train ur followers i find it annoying at first.
