@Demo, Cuch...well a little late for the first run seeing as how Aegis and Gypsy got a taste of the half-orc. Seconds are coming up though

Wow. To be honest, Z, you've really stumped me on how to continue on. I have a couple ideas floating around, but the big one I'm trying to think of is Aegis and Gypsy's motivation to even care about Erudish's fate. I mean, he tried to kill are witty hero's, and has been most unpleasant towards them.
Amelie, while a good idea for motivation, I don't believe is enough (even if Gypsy's maternal instinct goes into overdrive).

There's always the option of having Erudish bust out on his own accord to meet up with the three later. If you think that'd be the easiest solution then I'm all for it.

Could be a force of will type of thing.
Or, and this just occured to me, Amelie has proven capable of opening fun little rifts. Perhaps, after sometime, something like that occurs again, along with Erudish reappearing.

Hmmmm... I dunno about that. I think it would be a very convenient ability for us as writers, but that's the kind of random ability that always annoys me when it happens in a book I'm reading. If I'm reading along in a novel, especially a fantasy book, and a main character gets into trouble, it always feels like a cop-out when that character suddenly manifests an ability that allows them to get out of a situation. It like saying, "And then, character X used here here-to-fore unused magical abilities... and teleproted away!!!"
It just seems like too convenient a way out, you know?
With all that said, I certainly don't have a better solution. And I agree that we're in a tough spot, but I'm sure it will happen.
@Aegis
Once we figure out the above, lets figure out a way to keep Setanata from jumping Aegis and Gypsy.

@Aegis...sorry, but I'm going to have to go with Cuch on this one. Having Amelie being able to 'summon' Erudish back seems a little convenient.
I think if he breaks out on his own accord, he could later tell the group what's in the axe instead of having Aegis, Amelie, and Gypsy lugging the weapon around to Windhaven. So yes, right now I'm heavily leaning towards a 'force of will'. But it's not like he breaks out and is back in the druid's grove, he'd break out and be stuck wherever the mage keeps the phylactery - presumably on a different plane.
You know, the druid grove could be a good solution- magical place, used for summoning, the proverbial barrier between other planes might be a little thinner... that might work?
That could work, what do you propose?
@Aegis...Well, don't worry about justifying it, because I'll make Erudish force his way out. Heck, now all Aegis and Gypsy have to do is put up with Amelie who will mourn her loss by bawling
Well, like I said, it was just a thought. Also, like I said, I'm having a hard time justifying Aegis and Gypsy willingly trying to bring Erudish back.
It was a good thought, and I wouldn't buy Aegis and Gypsy trying to resurrect Erudish any more than I would a mysteriously manifested ability.
So, we're all in agreement.
As for what I propose...
Not much. But I thought that the Druid grove could provide a fertile option to use. In fact, I just thought of something to propose-
how about the winning Orc, or the next leader, picks up the Axe?
That's what I would do in their situation. The orcs are marauding the druid grove, right? Well, this orc carrying the axe could carry it into the grove, and then through some series of events- druid or priestly magic, Amelie throwing a fit, a combination of other things- Erudish forces his way out of the axe! He senses the weakness of the force seperating him from the physical world, he senses the weakness of the orc holding the axe, whatever. In some way he transmutates into his old self, forcing the dumb orc into the axe.

@Cuch...Nice. I'd personally like to separate Erudish from the group though for the moment though. Having him disappear and then reappear a couple minutes later kind of cheapens the evil in the axe.
@Aegis...now that we have some sort of direction, shall I start with something or would you like to have the first post with this?

In this particular case, I'm inclined to let you take the lead, as Erudish and Amelie are your characters.
