Duel swords for fighter?
Duel swords for fighter?
Does anybody know how do i get my fighter to use the double sword skill??
It isn't a dual sword skill, it is duel weapons. 1st, you have to have the skill. Once you have the skill, then you simply equipt the weapons that ytou will use. Problem is only certain weapons can be dual-weilded. For exaple, the wakasashi can be weilded in the other hand. You will ahve to experiment to see what weapon combinations you may use. But I have noticed certain things:
1) Daggers, kama, and the wakasashi may be used in the offhand at any time.
2) Primary weapons that will only be weilded in the primary hand include katanas, sceptres, axes, etc. 2-handed weapons are obviously 2 handed, thus preventing the use of dualweilding.

You have to do the "Marauder" or "Samurai" class quest to unlock Light Duel Weild and then the "Deathlord" or "Lord" quest if you want to Medium Duel Weild.
As for which weapons you can use, I read that you can use any light weapon in your off hand for Light Duel Weild such as Daggers & such & for Medium Duel Weild, you get to use any medium weapon.
I currently am the "Marauder" class & I have the Elven Bloodblade (Light weapon) as my main weapon and an Elvan War Dagger (Light weapon) as my off hand weapon. Works quite well I must say. I have 5 points in both Light & Medium weapons & 5 as well in Light Duel Weild.
Look here for an indebth "How-To" on getting different classes & their requirements.
Lord's don't have any dual wield skill
You are right. I looked on the link below, and it showed that the Lord class got Medium Duel Weild, however when I looked further into the different classes, it did not come up. Odd...

Thanks for catching that & bringing it to my attention.

I thought a No-dachi was heavy? Ill have to check that. But Something I saw, was that I could use some Heavy weapons aswell as a light one on my Marauder. Currently he uses a Sapphire Great sword (a freezing magic heavy weapon) and Kama of the Void (A nether blast-type magic effect light weapon). I was under the impression that only Medium and Light weapons could be dualed with the Skill Light Dual Wield.
As for best type... I would go for a weapon with a magic effect on it. I've got a few in my inventory. A magic weapon is almost wasted in offhand, as the magic effect does not come off. So something with a Freezing or Fire effect is good. Freezing seems to be more helpful and useful in my opinion. Only time it's not reliable are on Succubi, and a few higher end bosses.

You stare upon the perch,
The sight forces your somach's lurch.
The sight you see,
Is Death glaring back at thee.
You gave it a hum,
You let it run,
Now all you see,
Is the mirror that bleeds.

I realize this now, but I meant that I thought it was 2 handed. Sometimes I forget that one can only understand and reply to what has been said, not meant.
As for the list, it's not necessary. Just use some sense. From what I've seen, all Light Weapons, Medium, will go into primary. A fewer amount, such as Kamas, Wakazashis, Daggers, Kris Blades, probably a few more, etc. will go into the secondary spot. Also from what I've seen, Pole weaponry, nor a few of the Heavy Weapons will alow you to dual wield, as they take two hands to use.
Best off hand weapon that I have come across (I emphasize *I* because I have not gathered and used all weapons as a dual wielder), is a Kama of the Void. Good damage for an off hand IMO. The best feature of this game is that you can use a shield while you dual wield. First and only game Ive played that allows that.

Mind you I'm just getting started duel weapons but it seems your off hand weapon takes on the magic of your primary weapon. Have others found this to be true? I had a good opertunity to check this while beating up the first elf elder in the trial of elders. I was giving him the old one-two and when I missed with the flame sword (one) he'd still light up with a strike from my bronze kris blade (two). D
A couple of questions about dual weapons. If I'm reading this thread right there are no medium weapons that can be held in the off hand. If this is wrong please give me examples of weapons you have used. My other question is how high should I take the skills light and medium dual weapons. It appears I should only take them to 5. thanks in advance, D
