cannot buy Ward of Fire

Post by zaac »

Hell`o,

...can anybody please help me with suggestion where can I buy Ward of Fire crystal ? In walkthru is written "..in Arindale Temple of the Empyrean", but I only get "..sorry I have nothing to trade for now" from the local priest there :(
I am lv. 21 Wizard/Samurai, Celestial magic on lv 7, stats hig enough. I`m only able to buy two basic crystals in temple in Fargrove.
A friend of mine who finished this game a month ago was the same specialisation as I am and he bought himself Ward of Fire crystals without problem ( he cannot remember where exactly he bought/found them :o ).

Is this a bug of some kind ? Had anyone here experienced the same situation ?

thx

Are you sure you are talking to the priest? That sounds more like the conversation you get from the katal store. The temple in Arindale is right in front if the teleporter.

...yes, I`m talking to the priest in the Temple of Empyrean in Arindale, right in front of moonbridge. Description on him is brother ?????
Is this the only place where can I buy the Ward of fire ?
I`m playing version 1.3

...looks like a bug to me, I expect that the Shadow ruins will be a bit tough without this crystals, huh

Something is wrong then. Not sure how he ran out of stock. I purchased 10 off him myself, and never had that problem. But, if he says he has nothing to trade, then it can't be a bug.

When I played the fighter/mage classes he had nothing for sale. When I played as an Adept, he had plenty of stuff to sell me. I do not know about the thief class, but I am guessing you have to be an adept to get him to sell you anything.

I was wondering that myself.. perhaps you have to be in the guild to get the good stuff. I noted the same kind of thing in the House of the Tiger/Dragon whereby they had nothing for me until I accepted the quests; then they would only sell me so much when I was 1st tier, but would sell me better stuff upon reaching 2nd tier. Can't wait till I make Ninja Lord to see what he has for sale then. :D

...sounds reasonable, but a friend of mine completed DL a month ago with the same specialisation ( samurai/wizard ) and he bought in the Temple of the Empyrean a plenty of Ward of Fire crystals.
Nevertheless, the demons in Tomb of souls wasn`t too bad, yesterday I fried them with Blast novas and chopped them with my swords ;)
So I think, it will be no big problem to finish this game even without the fire wards

what fire crystals?

I'm in the last stages of the game and I've yet to find a fire crystal. The Tomb of Souls was difficult without fire protection, but it can be done. I have no idea why I could'nt find the crystal in Arindale as suggested.

I had the option of buying fireward crystals when I went fighter/adept, so possibly the adept thing unlocks those, or else your game just bugged out. However, with that character I never bought a fireward, and laughed my way through the whole game. If you're already level 21 you shouldn't have any problems at all in the shadow ruins. I was only level 23 when I beat the game.
