Hmm.. ok. Is there any way to tell how many charges a certain weap has? Or how long it takes for it to recharge? And yes, that basically describes aikido at a very simple level. If you'd like to learn more about it send me a PM and I'd be glad to explain.

[edit]I wrote the above a second ago in response to a very short post from Kel which told me that magic weapons have a certain amount of charges before they run out and then I have to melee. Now he says I can't use the sceptre as nothing but a melee weap and his post has not been edited. His short post also simplistically described aikido while his much longer, non-edited post above does not.. After hitting 'Submit Message', I got a net timeout error, so I waited a few seconds and tried again which was when I saw this much longer post by Kel... Did I enter the Twilight Zone?[/edit]

Well Kel, you are telling me now that I cannot use the sceptre of storms as anything other than a melee weap and yet, I have used it to cast lightning from a distance at attacking creatures, albeit inadvertently. What I would very much like to know is, how do I do it purposefully.
If you have the same rank in magic weaponry, you should be able to use it simply by clicking the attack button. It only has so many charges, so once those are out, you begin to melee.

Aikido... that's an art wherein you use your opponent's own force against them?
There it is!! This is the post I initially replied to. It's from Vequ not Kel.. Sorry Kel lol. Thought I was losing it there for a second. :p

Not all weapons acually cast a spell. Many of them just create a magical effect when used. FOr example, most of the ice weapons just cause a freezing effect when it strikes or is swung.

BlueOval_Releasing power of magic weapons-

BlueOval,

There are some magic weapons that do release their magic while standing
still. They do so at a distance and one I can think of is called the "Sceptre
of Shadows" and it is a Level 9 Magic Weapon. I think it may be the most
effective weapon in the game short of "Fire Burst" the Arcane Spell.

The "Sceptre of Shadows" releases it's magic just by pointing at an enemy
an it has fair distance ability. There may be some mage staffs that also
work the same. Shadows fires 4 or 5 what look to be Nether Blast balls
at once and is effective though at times it won't fire so use it as a short
sword as it still adds the Nether Magic damage. The sceptre doesn't need
recharging as it will begin working again and don't hesitate to use it at a
distance as it fires those magic balls in a spread and can hit multiple enemies.
The sceptre does just enough damage to interrupt any attack once it hits

I have also used the Winter Katana, Sceptre of Storms and a huge honking
hammer that adds fire damage when you hit someone but these only work
in melee combat. The actual combat or just before is what activates the
magic and they also have no charge limit.

Good Hunting!

Kel
