The Planar Prison

I found Haer' Dalis in the sewers and got his gem, and Raelis Shai did that dumb ritual and they got imprisoned in the planar prison. I went in there, and I found out i had to destroy that orb, but when i clicked it, it said something about a hand reaching into light or something...
When I walked over those blobs it brought me to these guys that go invisible, and then on the other side, there is a Wyvern, a bunch of Thalls and Thall Mages, all being controlled by their collars.
1.How do I destroy the orb?
2.How do I get past that army?
3.Why does it let me keep the collars I find, is there some purpose?
I'm trapped in there with:
~Sauron(Me)--Conjurer
~Minsc--Ranger
~Jaheira--Fighter/Druid
~Keldorn--Inquisitor
~Yoshimo--Bounty Hunter
~Aerie--Mage/Cleric

I keep gettin killed, because I am tryin to protect myself and Jaheira while still doing damage(the reason I'm tryin to protect Jaheira is because I'm tryin to work up a romance with her, I think I'm almost there[pointers on that also appreciated!]).I get Minsc to guard his witch, Aerie while he still does damage as well as Aerie, and Keldorn protecting Yoshimo as the 2 take out the evil mages.

When you first enter the prison and kill the bounty hunters in the area, a NPC talks to you and actually reveals the needed information about all of your questions.

There is an area shortly after the arrival spot which you can use to destroy the orb. Area 2 in the GameBanshee walkthrough

2.How do I get past that army?

As the NPC I mentioned would have told you, if you destroy the orb, you break the hold on the Thralls.

Thats good advice, but the problem it when i click on the orb it says something about a hand, I can't recall it. How do I destroy it?

That is because you don't use the orb, you use the pit which is marked in area 2 in the walkthrough.

You've lost me. if the control orb is in room #2 how do I destroy it? I trust a person's idea more than a walkthrough.

Get the orb.
Go to area marked #2
Use the pit in area marked #2

I even seem to recall that when you passed said pit, some floating text was written which hinted at its purpose.

and the orb is in room 6?

You even don`t have to get the orb,meaning more exp!But if you want to destroy it then just get the orb from the Master or Thralls(the big demon).He is on your right passage.Well,get the orb,place it on the hand and your done.

EDIT:you will just have to fight trought that army.Web,entangle and fireballs will kill `em nicely.
The collars are cursed and pointless,but i like to collect weird stuff that i find. Hope this answeres your questions...

Now I understand that, but how do I disable the blob things?

I think they will disable when you destroy the orb,but if not...more exp for you
None of them blobs worked when i destroyed the orb.

Thats good but fireball damages my own guys...bah. i will take a break from him and go back to my blade character...btw do u know any bard armor that lets me cast spells?

There is the Melodic Chain that is only bards can use and then all the drow and elven chain mails.But you might also want to check the armor section here:
