I can't seem to figure out how to make Jahiera and other npc priest/druid characters learn new spells. It irritates me to no end that she can't do a restoration spell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The spells are given to a cleric/druid by the power that he/she worship.
So you need to be at a certain level to know the restoration spell.
And jaheira does not get that spell because druids dont get that spell.

ah ok. so jahiera won't get it no matter what. well, what is confusing me is that I can't seem to understand how or where priests get their spells. I am playing a mage and of course you can buy or find those scrolls anywhere, but as of yet I don't remember ever picking up a priest scroll. how do I make jahiera and aerie learn new priest spells, in that case? march them to a temple? thank you!

Priests in D&D receive their spells from their deities. Each diety has access to a certain sphere of control. Spells are grouped according to these spheres. Not every deity has access to every sphere, so not every priest will be able to cast every spell.
When a priestly character reaches the next spell level, those spells (technically prayers) will already be in the priest's spellbook. If you want Jaheira and Aerie to have new spells, then get them up some levels.
