This is driving me nuts...

Post by netza »

I'm at the "Ninja-brothers", where the sarcophaugus is... anyhow... I can't kill them! I don't know for how many times I've tried... but aaargh, they always kill me first.

Does someone have any advice for how I could do? :(

Personnally, I find this one of the more challenging fights in the game, since you're up to two "bosses" at the same time.

Without having your stats or your clan it's difficult to give specific advise but:
- have enough blood at the ready
- concentrate on one of the two brothers first, preferably the claw brother since he does aggrevated damage, it makes the fight easier
- run away frequently, flee up or down the stairs, you'll be healing while they're catching up with you.
- use your disciplines, don't hold back (but see first point).
I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.

I just stayed in the doorway where you start. And fought them there.

Unarmed 6
melee 6
ranged 4
defense 6

Blood buff is full...
I have tried the stairs... but they they kill me anyway. :(

The first time I went into the room I don't know what happend... but somehows I got stuck to the roof and I hang there and shot at them... but then I ran out of bullets and got killed when I jumped down. :(

With having blood at the ready, I meant having blood packs and/or odious chalice for a quick life-saving snack during fighting. Believe me, I needed at least one full "refill" (Elder vitae or chalice at 10 points) every time I fought the Chang brothers.
And if you run out of ammo, it means you didn't buy enough in preparation for this fight. ;)

As a Malk and the stats you mention, I would rely on a combination of "Vision of Death" (Dementation discipline) and melee with a sharp weapon (axe or katana).
Obfuscate is of limited use since they notice you at shorter distances regardless. But I'm under the impression that they do not notice you from a distance and can't localise you immediately, so it can be used to prolong periods between melee sequences.

The Brothers Chang are not really that hard to beat. Just don't try a head-on assault. You have to do some initial damage to get them to come for you. Once they start coming, they'll keep coming. Equip a shotgun or .44 (which you ensured was fully loaded in advance, right?). Then back about half-way down the entrance hall.

Since you're in the hall, they can only come for you one at a time. Shoot the lead guy in the head a few times (three or four is about all it takes) and he'll teleport away. Immediately hit reload. You may have to back-pedal a little bit to avoid getting slashed by the next one before you can start shooting again.

Then just repeat. Try to battle your way back to the middle of the hall while firing so that you always have room to back-pedal and buy time while reloading, and you should be able to get through with minimal damage. Once one brother is dead, the other is child's play, since you have lots of time to reload.

It really helps to have all of your ranged weapons mapped to number keys so that in extremis you can rapidly switch to something else. Anything is better than nothing.

There is always a certain satisfaction to purity of content, as in 'doing it the vampire way' and fighting the Chang Brothers hand-to-hand. However, it is always important to understand that, "There is a time to ponder elegance in design, and a time to just gibber the fish in the most auspicious manner possible and call it a night."
