I'm not sure if anyone else has done this, but I was able to get an innocent verdict for Sunry even though I hadn't managed to use persuaded on either Ignus or Firith.
The walkthrough says you must persuade Firith and Gluupor, and that persuading Ignus is like icing on the cake. Well, I could only persuade Gluupor - my persuade skill is only 3, charisma is 11. I don't really understand how all these stats work, but the best persuade I could get was 6 by using Mastor Valor.
Anyway, I played through the actual trial a few times to see what would happen and hear what the different characters would say. I had Sunry Confess, I showed the tape, I tried to get him off in different ways. I couldn't get an innocent verdict. Once I'd decided to forget it, and just get on with the game, I somehow managed to get an innocent verdict.
I'm only typing this, because I read other posts from people like me who wanted to free Sunry, but couldn't use persuade on Firith. Me neither, but THERE IS STILL HOPE. I can't remember exactly how I did it, but I can try to do it again if someone wants. I still have the saved game from where I started the trial.
In a nutshell, I basically selected the dialog options that the walkthrough suggests. Even though Ignus never said the shot was fired after Sunry left. And even though I couldn't get Firith to say that the dead ***** was a dark Jedi.
I hope this helps someone.
Later,
-cwineman
Addendum: I just got the popup that happens when you complete a quest. I only got 400 xp. Not the 500 that the walkthrough says you get when you get Sunry off.
Addendum 2: I managed to repeat the innocent verdict. So it probably wasn't a fluke. I hope I'm just not repeating a bunch of crap that everyone already knows. Or at least, I hope someone informs me that I am being crap-repeater.

You need to pick up Jolee and talk to him until you run into some bum and he tells you about Sunri. Then you go to Mannon (sp?) and find Sunris wife by the courts and she tells you some stuff and then you go to the courts and ask to be the Arbitraitor for his case.

Add l Skinflute l (Lower case L's) if you think you can beat me 1v1 snipers in Halo 2.
Well, Amiga (Amigo?). How does the mission start, you ask?
It's been so long I don't really remember. I just restarted replaying this game. I got to this mission and then played GTA-SA then I came back to finish this game.
Anyhow, looking at the walkthrough it looks like once you get Jolee and return to Manaan you get the trial mission. I think it happens in that same corridor where other NPC missions start. I think Sunry's old lady runs up to you or something. I could be mistaken.
Really, I just made the original post because I read the walkthrough and figured I was screwed as far as getting Sunry aquitted. Since I wasn't screwed, I figured other people might want to know how-not-necessarily-screwed they might be.
Addendum: As I was typing this, Rowan Atkinson slipped in and made a post that contradicts what I have said. I don't really know where this quest starts. However, I'm sure that getting Jolee first is a definite requirement.
Addendum 2: Since I love addendums so, I thought I would make a clarification. To get the trial sequence, you need to get Jolee in your party, and then return to Manaan. THEN, I'm not sure what you do. Try just walking aroung aimlessly. You'll eventually run into the character the triggers the quest. Good Luck.

Starting Sunry Trial Mission

I had a party lacking Jolee. I walked up to Sunry's wife, spoke to her, and she asked that I bring Jolee out to play. So I quickly swapped him into the party and talked to her again. And you know the rest...
