Kill Lacroix: Defective Bomb!

Post by Bluefang »

Urg -- wouldn't think a Ventrue would be so bloody cheap. Anyway: killed the faux-Lacroix, took the astrolite, went to the elevator, armed the explosive, hit the button, jumped off, waited . . .

Waited some more . . .

And some more . . .

No boom!

Reloaded, tried again, same result.

What's going on here? Is there something else I need to do, or what?

Wow. That truly reeks. I'd try two things. 1) Go upstairs. If everybody is dead then the bomb went off. 2) reboot. I've never even *heard* of this happening before.

It took several reloads, but it finally fixed itself. It's not that the bomb didn't go off, but the elevator stopped halfway up. Several more tries, and it went all the way and kaboom.

It also stopped halfway the first time I tried to go up myself afterwards. But -- all's well, and I finally finished the game for the first time! Yay!

BTW, my advice, ignore what the walkthrough says about taking the Sheriff on with ranged weapons. You're better off blasting him with the flamethrower and then buffing up and slicing and dicing. Probably have to use canned blood halfway through, but he's beatable. Try to use ranged, though, and that teleport thing he does won't let you keep distance.

That's what I did: the elevator stopped half way up; I climbed a step-ladder to that level and pressed the "up" button again. This time it went to the top and there was a BANG.
