thought...

Fighter class can learn these skills. Light Armor, Medium Armor, Heavy Armor, Light Shields, Medium Shields, Heavy Shields, Light Weapons, Medium Weapons, Heavy Weapons. I think you have to get a certian lvl before you will see all of the skills...I started out as a fighter and i didn;t get much of any of those skills until i got to about LVL 10. I think you gain them as you get to certian lvls.

You have to advance your class to tier 2 get the heavy sets for weapons, shields, and armor. To do that talk to the fighter's guild, priests guild, or an eastern house. There you'll get a quest to add a tier 2 class to your character such as Paladin or Knight (both of which get heavy gear).

http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords/classes.php

Check out the tree here. Only certain classes get heavy armor.

I think Floppy is confusing the learning bonuses Fighters receive with the skills they actually get. Not all 2nd tier classes give you access to the "heavy" gear either. As an example you can follow the sisterhood quests and if you go Fighter/Enchantress/Warwitch you will only have Heavy Armor, but not Heavy Weapons access. If you took Fighter/Valkyrie/Warwitch you would also have Heavy Weapons and Heavy Poles along with Heavy Armor.

And one note to add. Contrary to what the walkthrough says Marauder doesn't get heavy armor or heavy shields. D

When you’re finished in Fargrove head to Arindale. Complete any guild quest you have on the way or when you get there. Report in at the guilds in Arindale. I would suggest that then you focus on finishing your second tier classes before continuing your quest to talk to Emmindor. Your knight quest will take you to Bolen fields and you can take care of other business you have there then. If you’re new at the game the second tier class quest can be tough but not as tough as what you will face later in Arindale. D

If you know how to fight, then - at least in my opinion - the knight quest is a joke. He casts no spells so all you have to do is beat him down and pretty much only have to worry about random encounters.

If you are referring to obtaining the quest to become a knight, then you can go to either the fighter's guild in Fargrove, or the one in Arindale to recieve it. You are also able to go to either one to report back that you have completed killing the target.

This applies to all the guilds. As long as you go to an appropriate guild, you may complete or obtain the quests. For example, for the tier 2 Eastern house ( like Saumari), you may go to either the House of the Tiger, or the House of the Dragon in order to recieve it, then either one to report your sucess.
