Party Jedi

Post by Razzy »

Im playing a neutral character right now, and i always noticed how usually you cant turn your companions into jedi until you get your prestige class. but recently i read a thread saying neutral jedi cant get a prestige class, but a guy who was playing a neutral jedi had his companions as jedi.

so, at what point exactly can i try to turn them into jedi? like, what point in my own characters maturation do i get the option to turn them to jedi?

your class has nothing to do with it. The ability to turn someone into a Jedi is dependent upon influence and certain pre-met conditions. The only thing you are missing out on by being a neutral Jedi is Visas, and the extra goodies that come from Light/Dark Mastery. But other than for story purposes, there is no reason to be neutral. But it is not my place to tell someone how to play their game so...

to get the characters to turn into Jedi, you need to do the following for each character. High influence is implied, of course

Atton - you need to walk around in the refugee sector without him in your party until two Twi'leks tip you off to his shady past

Mira - after raising sufficient influence, you need to bring her to the spot in Nar Shadaa in front of the entertainment promenade where you felt the force strongly

Bao-Dur - the only thing required with him is influence, but that is tricky because you can't get any from dialogue options. He responds well to good deeds though

Disciple - a frikken joke. I turned him into a Jedi before I even left the Jedi Archives where I picked him up. Just talk to him and show your support for the Republic.

HandMaiden - actually took me the longest. You have to beat her in three duels. You actually have to wait between planets to get the second and third duels.

Its all influence.

Bau-Dur must be with u on Nar Shadaa to turn him into a Jedi and I think thats the only way.

Take him and only him with u and to all kinds of good deeds. Im talking about him because he seems to be the one everyone has problems with.

Give the man crdits, help the guy being bullied, heal the guy in the refugee sector that thinks hes diseased, and anything else u can find. Bau-Dur usually talks with u after u do a good deed.

Say all kinds of nice things to him to gain influence and u should get into a conversation about Malachor I think (havent played in awhile) and u can turn him.

Only take Bau-Dur with u on Nar Shadaa because the other characters will say something after a good deed instead of Bau-Dur.

Pretty sure thats the only chance u have to turn him into a Jedi.

that can be repeated with any character, Darth Moudi, even Mira if you wait till after you complete the main quest to go back and help. Of course, Bao-Dur is the natural choice because he has no dialogue options, but all 5 potential Jedi can use this.

I find it much easier if you have the Jedi Master/Sith Lord prestige class. Usually it only takes one, seldom two influence gains to completely unlock them. With my Consular/Master, I only needed to use two influence gains with Bao-Dur in order to turn him into jedi, The one on Dantooine (let him take a look at those Atmospheric thingies you find in the cave) and maybe one in Nar Shaddaa. With a master I had everyone except Handmaiden as a Jedi by the time I completed my first planet, which was Nar Shaddaa. Yes, that includes Mira as well. I left some things open for her to do after I got her.

interestingly, Atton responds well to either dark or light actions. I guess it signifies the fact that he is on the razor's edge of morality, with only a little shove from the exile needed to turn him one way or the other.
