Hey the new star wars RTS is called Star wars empire at war. However the best sw mods are Galactic conquest for BF'42, UT2004Troopers for unreal tourney 2004 and warlords for homeworld 2.
And the cry went out across the galaxy "Execute Executive order 66" and just like that the Jedi order was decimated.

I'v Played Star Wars KoToR 1 and 2, and i MUST say KoToR 1 is the best by far, the story was awesome, the surprise really got me, no kidding i was like "OMGGG!!" I needed a bit of time to breath :p with that being said, that RPG was the RPG that got me into RPG's, stunning game, loved every second of it, and was very replayable, played around 6-8 dark side games lol, and 1 lightside game to see what the ending was

KoToR 2 for me, is pretty weak, i mean it's not even finished, the plot is too weak... and it made NO SENCE at all... I got pretty far, but i was UNABLE to finish the game, not because i wasnt skilled enough or anything lol, i stop playing because the story was soooo boring, i just psycally could not play the game... Glad i didnt buy it to be honest, i lent it off a friend, and AM I GLAD I DIDNT BUY IT!

For me it was the excat oppersite.
KotoR 1 was so predicatable, that I almost stopped playing - the "suprise" is overplayed and the layups to it revealed all early in the game.
The story of the second is far more complex and actually had some nice twists to it. The second is however very bugged which detracts quite a lot from the feel of it, and has to many things which where cut out but still with references to them ingame.

But nevertheless both of them was way simplistic as RPGs go and much more into the action genre then the RPG genre, offering (in my humble opinion) the intellectual challenge of a wet blanket. I mean, come on - having to mention which 3 types of terrain on a list of 6 supports "life" (as we know it) ... please. Tower of Hanio with 3 levels. A puzzel which solves itself if you have 14 intelligence on your character .... please.

[QUOTE=Chimaera182]Rebellion used to be interesting, but I get bored of games fast. Frankly, the game just doesn't seem balanced right, but that can be said about lots of games. But it was a decent strategy game.

I played Rebellion(Supremacy as some versions are called) quite a lot in the "old days", and it was a very fun game, although rather limited with an abysmal AI. However, in multiplayer the game really shined (as do many mediocre games), and it is definately one of the top ranking Star Wars games for me.

My opinions tally exactly with Xandax's. The original KotoR seemed aimed at 10-year-olds as far as character development, plot, and puzzles were concerned. The plot and characterization in KotoR2 were worlds beyond that (and not surprising, considering the lead designer also led the PS:T team), but was left in an unfinished state by Lucasarts' demands for a release. It would seem that in general, the corporate gaming world are aiming to make to hit the broadest possible audience, which means RPGs these days are being blanded-out beyond belief.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

(Sorry for the OT)

But hey - don't mess with the dead horse I like to beat :D
Maybe I should replay the games, write down all the puzzles and then make fun of them.... I'm sure I recall one from KotOR1 where you had to find the next number in a row 1,3,5,7, X.... X=1357? .... come on :D

Good thing I'm working on programming some sort of blog site for myself, this could be a topic I could talk about for ages :D

Empire at War looks pretty awesome. It reminds me a little of Homeworld only on land as well.

It would be interesting to have a new Sw RPG come out that has puzzles that challenge you...I am slighty embarrased to say in the first one I got confused when translating the passcard on the fifth sequence...

How embarrasing. :o

Havent heard much about SW games lately...

If you like RTS games, 'Empire at War' by the guys from Westwood has some pretty intense trailers that you could find somewhere. Graphically it's pretty good and it has a few neat gameplay items, such as having troops on the planet able to affect battles in space and vice versa. Plus you get to use the Death Star, not to mention heroes (Vader, Obi-Wan). I'm not praising it yet, since Star Wars games don't have too good a history when it comes to strategy games, but I have a friend who's been drooling at it since E3.

No problem, it comes out in Februrary of 2006, so it's a while away.
