Resting in Ust Natha (slight spoiler)

Post by Earnest »

Not sure if this is an original game oversight, or a bug, or the result of a modest bunch of mods installed in my version of the game:

My party cant find anywhere to rest once inside Ust Natha?
The dragon lady worked her magic and we are going to see the ruse through to its conclusion. At present, we are highly favored by Phaere and the Matron Mother, after our show of strength in SE Underdark obliterated the devourers in seconds and rescued Phaere while she was still casting spell protections...

So surely it is not too much to ask to find a room within the city to rest and mem spells, while we wait for Phaere to leave the tavern so we can receive her next orders?

I guess we will have to exit the city and sleep rough. In itself that is no real problem of course, just slightly annoying that they couldnt put the usual inn-keeper NPC in the 'tavern' and let us rest there. I dont remember this happening in past games? How farcical that this powerful (and now respected) group of Drow, new in town, should have to set up camp right outside the city gates.

The innkeeper in the north of the tavern should allow you to rest. He's on one of the elevated platforms. I think you have to choose Royal rooms and pay 30gp for the priviledge though.

Is your game fully patched? If not, you should update it, that may help.

Actually we just found him, so I came back here to remove that last post :)

Thanks for the helpful reply though. I thought i must be going mad, but luckily i was only going blind.

One annoying thing I have discovered is that after completing all the fights first available in the tavern, I am stuck with that loud battle music the whole time while in the place. Quicksave kills it fortunately, or we would have to rest elsewhere anyway. I love the beautiful music throughout this game, but that one tune has started to grate. Especially when the party is attacked by two little spiders or kobolds etc, the battle theme is wholly inappropriate. At times like that it should play a couple of bars of the circus clown music.
