Access to Watcher's Keep??

Post by Nelos »

rather silly question - have read some walkthroughs but am still not sure about answer to this:

i imported a SoA save game to ToB and started in the grove of elders (not watcher's keep).

After doing this initial stuff, am i able to go to the keep at a later time, or can i never go there if i import from SoA and start in the grove of elders?

The answer to this question is actually in the pop-ups that appear the first time you start SoA or ToB but I shall paraphrase for you (because I'm nice like that :D ).

You may enter Watcher's Keep at anytime in either SoA or ToB and if you start the Keep in SoA but don't finish it you can pick up where you left off in ToB.

A word of advice though as I've just learned, it is actually better to do WK in ToB as a) you get more XP and b) NPC interjections only apppear in the expansion.

Once you get through the initial stuff, you'll be able to travel to Watcher's Keep at your own leisure. This through me off the first time I played ToB as well.

I would recommend visiting and maybe clearing out the first level in SoA. There are some very useful containers and other items to be found there.

Especially if you're an archer, or someone using a bow. You'll find bags of unlimited bolts, arrows, bullets and whatnot on the first level, which can be easily obtained by a speedy thief. It's always nice to have unlimited +1 arrows for your archer with grandmastery in short bows and wielding Tuigan Bow the first ten minutes into the game. :)

Yeah, that's what I mean. :)

Spoilers- IIRC there is a quiver container for all those nice elemental and high enhancement arrows, a returning dart +3, never-ending quiver for arrows and bolts +1 (saves carrying more of the same), and you can purchase a potion bag from outside (not available in SoA areas. :D
