Um... Okay... I'll nix the first comment that came to mind.... Sorry
Seriously? It depends on the kinds of games you like to play. The PC version of Morrowind might work for you, since you can configure the keyboard commands to whatever is comfortable. I'm not sure though, since I've never tried to play the game one-handed.
Other games might also allow you to configure your keyboard, though I can't presently think of any myself.
oh, and welcome to SYM btw

The Age of Empires series should work well...At least I only use one hand when playing. You don't need the hotkeys.

Bah, don't be such a wuss! I completed Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 with my right arm in a full cast!
(True Story!)
Age of Wonders is a great time killer, and is turn based.

Mag: Don't remember much at all of last night do you?
Me: put simply.... No
Mag: From what I put together of your late night drunken ramblings? Vodka, 3 girls, and then we played tic-tac-toe and slapped each other around.

This tells you a whole lot more than you actually want to know about SYM
I think I might have had the same comment coming to mind.
On topic: adventure games of the Myst-type usually are mouse-only control. And thus OK for the brachially challenged.
Otherwise I second the advise for (turnbased) strategy games.
Ghost Master is one I personally like and mostly mouse-only control and requires next to no typing or other use of keys.

@Lestat,
"great minds?" Or minds that never quite manage to crawl out of the gutter?
Another suggestion, if you don't mind RPGs,
Baldur's Gate series, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale series.
In each case you can pause, assign tasks to party members, and let them go to it. Equally, you can pause and give everyone potions etc.

Some versions of pong can be played using just the up and down arrow.
PONG!
weeeee! (too bad pong actually sucks... if you experience the same subjective realization, you might wanna try the 4 keyed pacman.... which also sucks)

play go.
There are plenty of free go game downloads you can play vs other players on line.
Go is an ancient strategy game from China. I can likely describe it in short, declaritive sentences. But I won't. Thus concludes my book report.

He could always try "The Stranger". Not sure if that's acceptable or not though.
Umm, my suggestion? http://www.download.com and search for "strategy" under "games". Try them out. Chances are, the better ones will be trial's.
Geneforge 2 is one I'd suggest. I liked that one.

Since some days now, I'm adddicted to a game called 'Bubbles'. It's very simple, you only need the mouse, and it's very addictive. Last night, I stayed up so long playing the darn game, that I slept through my alarm clock this morning, missing my first school class
.
So be warned.
The link to the game is of a Dutch website, so you won't understand the 'spelregels'. Even though you probably will figure it out on your own, this is what you have to do: You have to shoot bubbles against two or more bubbles of the same colour, thus making all the bubbles of the colour chain dissapear. So it's basicly about making chains of same-coloured bubbles, consisting of at least three bubbles, so that the chain will dissapear. To make it a bit more difficult, the rows of bubbles drop down a level every now and then:
