surf house

I just started playing V:Bloodlines, and even though I installed the 1.7 patch, I seems stuck right at the beginning at the surfhouse with the thugs. I can't pick up anything except for the explosives: neither weapons nor the money. Anyone had that and was able to fix this?!

Are you getting a pop up at all? Regardless, press "E" when an object is highlighted should still allow you to pick up an item. Check out this thread:

It might cover your problem. Quite frankly, if none of the suggestions in this thread help (and you're not having any targetting problems based on mouse options or some other setting), you might be experiencing a bug and should just try reinstalling.

don't forget... if you already have a weapon in your inventory, you can't pick another one up. you're only allowed one of each weapon type at any given time.
the only two things you can do are:

1) if it's a weapon that requires ammo, equip it to get the ammo and let the weapon itself live on the ground.

2) leave the weapon on the ground, go sell your current gun of the same kind. return and pick up the one you left behind. (personally, i think that's a silly thing to do. takes too much time and effort for the amount of money you get for it.)
