I uninstalled the vampire bloodlines game from my computer and i re-installed it recently i tried to install the patch as well but it said the patch cannot be re-installed as it is already on. But when i go to the society of leopold the game crashes on me! i tried to uninstall the game again and i re-installed it but that hasn't helped, does someone know where i can find where the patch is to delete it?

The patch probably over wrote some files. I'm not sure there is anyway to delete it per se. I may be wrong, though. If so, I'm sure others will chime in an correct me. However, it may be that you've installed it correctly after all. You might try the unofficial patch too. It tweaks the Leopold problem, as well. It might solve your problem. Otherwise, you might check some of the other threads on the forum. They may give you some trouble shooting advice for the bug that will be of use.
Five gets you ten that it's finding the old registry entries and determining your patch level from there. Uninstall bloodlines, and then click:
Start/Run
In the dialog box, type:
Regedit
In the tool that pops up, you will see, in the left-hand panel, what looks like a bunch of file folders. Open up "My Computer". Then open up the folder called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Then open the sub-folder called "Software", then the sub-folder called "Activision". You will see a folder there called "Vampire - Bloodlines". Right-click on it and choose "Delete". Answer "Yes" to the warning.
Now, go to where you originally installed it, normally "C:\Program Files\Activision". If there is still a "Vampire - Bloodlines" folder there, delete it, too.
Now re-install and apply the 1.2 patch and everything should go swimmingly. You've effectively erased from your system all memory of that program ever having been there, and it should be a clean install and patch.
I know, Microsoft warns that "Horrible things will happen if you mess with the registry!" Too bad they didn't go to the trouble to teach most programmers how to use the thing properly - like cleaning it up on the uninstall. Hence, the task falls to us.
An alternative to this technique, if you have Norton Utilities, is to run Norton WinDoctor after you've uninstalled VTMB. It should locate and clean out the unreferenced hive.
