Did you ever get the feeling that these two have mismatched personalities ?

I mean look at Valygar. I mean I think we can all unanimously agree that the tall brooding stranger is always pretty damned cool. I mean from old school Strider to the edgier al'Lan Mandoragon, to the grapphically noveled Logan, the angry cool guy is loved by the audience.

Do you get that with Valygar ? My answer is a very emphatic NO. His voice isn't gritty enough. Not by a looong stretch. He is not hardcore enough. When he tells people to shut their mouths, he's not witty enough, and just comes across as being pretentious. Look at his color choices, VIOLET AND LILAC ? WHAT KIND OF SISSY RANGER IS THIS ? The writing doesn't seem half-bad, but that just means its only half-good. He doesn't have enough of a temper to be qualified as crowd pleaser. No siree.

Anomen on the other hand had alot of potential. I mean you could have developed this guy into a tragic hero. Instead all you got was a tragic zero. This guy just SCREAMS idiot. It's like a little kid who read too many comic books and grows up into one. Also, what kind of dumbass helm-worshipping fool wears a symbol of lathander ?

This guy could have been a brutus, or a hamlet, or a prince henry, but ended up as the fool gravedigger from the funeral scene in hamlet. What a useless idiot !

Final gripe: what kind of guy uses a line that compares the chick to his sister ? Where is this guy from anyways ? Deep South ?

In defense of Valygar, I think of him as the quiet, tragic type rather than the angry, brooding type. His family has a long history of magic users corrupted into evil, and he wants to end that history by letting his bloodline die out. He seems to accept this, and seems resigned to his fate, instead of being angry about it.

Also, if you give him the shadow scale armor and change his colors to black and black, he looks much better, like a dark stealth bomber.

Valygar is definitely no Kivan - god i loved that guy's voice! It cracked me up everytime.

he made the best archer ever and always seemed to kill every thing before my fighters made it there.

he didn't seem to play well with yeslic though, with all those comments about crawling around in underground holes like dwarves....
