actually i don't since no-one in my family has ever owned a dog..

my sisters cat can open doors and tended to jump onto my stomach when i was sleeping back when i lived at my parent's house...

Pets are the best thing you can have, they bother sometimes but the ammount of care you have to give them and you receive from them is insanely big. Its a good thing to have pets, even goldfishes. I used to talk to mine, they were great...

There's no problem in talking to fishes dude. Fishes are the 2nd most intelligent form of life in the universe, and they're like ninjas cause they're so sweet. They also like to flip out and kill people just for sport. And hyppos are cool to but I cant have a hyppo at home. Heheheheh.
