Access violation?

gahhhh. so im in the sewers and i've found my way to gary's pad....as soon as i try to talk to him the game crashes. when i read the crash log it says vtmb made an access violation (0xc0000005)...what does this mean? im tearing my hair out. please help

A code 5 access violation is a file-level "Access denied" error. Presumably this means that the file exists, but when you login, you do not have permission to open it. This should not happen, at the least not that far along in the game.

Possible solutions:
1) Restart your computer.
2) Move your saved games elsewhere and re-install VTMB. Then move your saved games back and try again. Your saved games will be, as default, at:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire\SAVE"
