WANTED : Potion of Magic Blocking

Searching for a Potion of Magic Blocking.

The Gamebanshee's Idem Guide only tells me the following location : "Various locations throughout Faerun".

Can anyone help me finding one?

This is a potion that confers to the drinker immunity to 1st to 5th level spells (from both divine and arcane magic). It is NOT the potion wich gives you 50% resistance vs. magical damages nor the one that gives you 50% resistance to (all) magic.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I would say the best places to look are Adventurer's Mart and the potion seller in the Bridge District. As long as you didn't report her to the Lieutenant in the tanner quest she will have a very good selection of potions and will be found near the Derelict House (Neb's Lair).

that particular potion only appeared once in my recently completed SoA. And dammit i cant remember where i got it

but it was not from a store.

perhaps in one of the suldanessellar fights. or one of the other quests i completed later in the game: twisted rune, firkrag, unseeing eye, mekrath / planar prison.

sorry cant really help, but i certainly didnt see this potion for sale, or jan would have taken some.

Already checked both... no Potion of Magic Blocking

The potion seller's name is Ms. Cragmoon btw.

Well, considering the potency of the potion, I'm guessing you cannot buy it. Also, if it was a reward from a certain boss, I think they usually are stated in the item list. So therefore, I think this could be a random drop, or tucked away where no one remembers...which means you'll have to play and hope for the best.

Apart from that, CLUA or Shadowkeeper is available, but I'm guessing you want to play the game properly.

My guess it's random elite loot, like those pesky arrows of detonation. I myself have never seen them in my SOA runs but I haven't gone through TOB very far so it could be there somewhere.

Huh

Potion of Magic Blocking was avaiable in Baldur's Gate 1 you know... it was "THE" only way to protect yourself from magic efficiently (100% Magic Res. vs spells lvl 1 to 5).

Exactly: so that's very, very potent, hence, they might not want to hand them out like candy.

The only place I know to find it with the 1st-5th lvl spell blocking is in BG1 from Thalantyr at high hedge. Are you sure there is one in BG2 that has the spell blocking lvl 1-5?
