Final Battle Bug...

Post by Damn Snakes! »

I finally got to the final battle, where Volgar dies and the big ugly demon acts all pissy, (and Galdryn in a blue crystal) - but I get a fatal crash (where I have to reboot my computer to get out of the frozen screen...) in the middle of the fight! This has happened 4 times now! Is this happening to anyone else? Is there an adjustment I can make to alleviate this? This is worse than a whole load of snakes!

...man i hate these snakebunches, i can`t tell you!!!!!!!
this disgusting pack!!!! even more, than that buzzinghardtohit killerbees!!!
but now to that prob of yours:

sounds to me, like you have the game running on to high resolution.
the final demonkickassbattle slowed my system down also alot, cause it`s the most action in it.
that demon summons monsters like hell in addition to his spells, i think it´s just little bit to much there. i had summoned also several allies too.
what system are you running the game on?
i had my taskmanager runnig on my second panel, and saw that the "Auslagerungsdatei" (don`t know the english word for it - direct translation would be OUTSOURCED FILE ?) on the systemtab was growing very large and the cpu usage was permanent 100% there. then all got very bumpy.
perhaps decreasing your game resolution might help.
it did to me.

Found a way to the end!

After reading your post, I decided to not summoning any help, just free Galdryn and let him take most of the damage... after a while of hiding behind the shield of retribution, the big demon was down near half of his points, I jumped in with the "No-Dachi of winter" and just hacked him to peices!

so, I am done... but I found that the ring of protection and the shield didn't stop me from getting seriously damaged in the begining of the battle with that last demon...

When I first started this encounter I thought it was going to be a real pita. But after about 5 mins of dodging, ducking, and running around in circles the boss got stuck on the geometry of the central platform where I had left Galdrin in the crystal. At this point I just stayed out of range of his AE spells and hammered him with bow and my sceptre of shadows. Any allies that he summoned were eventually obliterated by his numerous AE spells. The final fight turned out to be very anti-climactic for me and was similar in nature to the Beast of Gazbu (sp?) fight.
