What can I do with the scepter with 3 gems in it?
I tough it would remove the "dead magic" and "wild magic" effects of some of the rooms but it does not. That makes it quite difficult for a solo sorc. Only way to kill them is putting chain contigency with 3 mordekaines and then using book of flesh golem manual so I get 3 swords and one golem. They are not usually enough to kill them all so I have to "retreat and reload". This is not very easy because you teleport to some really annoying places when you escape.
WK and the 3 gemmed scepter.
the scepter and gems are used to leave that level and go to the next
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach
A question was asked about the demon hearts....
If you are a Paladin, the demons and devils will both be automatically hostile to you (duh!) Otherwise (in my playing experience anyway), the game checks against your alignment and reputation. If you have a good alignment AND a good reputation, the demon (or devil) will start to talk to you but reconsider and attack you anyway. [If you are a Paladin, he doesn't even consider talking.]
OTOH, if you are NON-Good and/or have a low reputation, the Demon or Devil (whichever you meet first) is NOT hostile and offers you a deal. Essentially it is this: Go to the enemy (Demon if working for Devil or vice versa) and get their heart and give it to your 'benefactor'. You will get the gem and a payment. Of course the /really/ evil parties will attack afterwords regardless just for the extra goods and XP
Anyhoo, that is what the demon hearts are for. If you had to fight both, then they are a waste of inventory space.
