Could anyone share MovIntro.bif file?

Post by crusader »

I was trying to install BG2:SoA when found that MovIntro.bif file from CD2 is damaged and can't be readed.
Probably a scratch on CD, I don't know.

This file located at CD2/Movies folder and if packed it would be around 40 Mb.

I would appreciate if somebody share this file on ftp/http or probably send to me by email:

Much thanks.

I would if I could, but I can't :) . For all intents and purposes, I am on dial-up speed now.

edit: try renaming the file (so that the program might skip it), or putting another mov file in its place with the same name. It's just the intro right?

Dial-up is not a problem at all, I am on dial-up too, important thing is that you are willing to help. :)

Please, download this executable file [50Kb]:
DELETED

Put genfix.exe and MovIntro.bif in the same folder and run it. After couple seconds it generate fix.dat file which should be around 100Kb, hardly more. This file is a patch and after I receive it I will be able to restore original.

I wrote genfix myself, so don't worry about viruses and trojans (though it never hurt to check). It contains CRC32 checksums for each 10Kb block of my file and it scans through original file and selects only blocks which differs.
I think only couple dozens of sectors was unreadable on CD, so patch should be really small.

And yes, it's just the intro, but I like it and want to restore original file. ;)

Hope to hear from you.

I'm sorry, but I really don't want to do that. If you insist on having the file (instead of bypassing it), and you own the game, I think this is the best example for a legal use for p2p software I've heard. I also think bioware has a scratched CD return offer, but that will cost you some money and time.

File link deleted. Crusader, you're saying you wrote the file you want someone to download and run on their machine--which makes it okay, and trojan-free--is, with respect, just the kind of thing that's going to be said by anyone who wants to infect somone's machine. So whether you're legit or not, you can't use that "solution" here on GameBanshee. Sorry.

No problem, whether your request was kindly meant, or not. It pays to be safe rather than infected, these days. ;) Thread closed.
