Hi
I'm on my way through BG1 with a Paladin. Going quite well but I've problems with which kit is the better one i BG2. I'm down to chosing between Undead Hunter and Cavalier. Any one got any good experience with anyone of them? and which one is more fun to play?
Thx in advance
Paladin kit
The Inquisitor kit is very useful to have, because he can easily dispel any mage's protection in 1 move (Double-level Dispel Magic). He will also free a "True Sight" spell slot for your mage(s), or a "True Seeing" spell slot for your cleric(s). It is quite powerful, but I kinda enjoyed to breach trough a mage's protections... so having an Inquisitor (Keldorn) by my side greatly reduced the fun...
The Cavalier is quite good.. in ToB, since you'll encounter significantly more dragons/deamons in Throne of Bhaal. The resistances/immunities are quite minor ones... except the Fear Immunity and the free casting of X "Remove Fear", wich is very good, because fear is no longer an enemy for you.
The Undead Hunter is a good choice, since there are many Undeads in BG2 SoA. The immunity to level-drain is priceless. Immunity to hold spells may be useful too.

I would go with a ...
- Undead Hunter for Shadow of Amn.
- Cavalier for Throne of Bhaal.
If you still wish to have an Inquisitor, just get Keldorn in your team.

I personally played a cavalier once for a good portion of SoA. I found it very fun and very realistic roleplaying wise. Once I met up with firkraag, I didnt even have to use cheese to kill him (traps and whatnot). Also, like SP101 said, the immunities are very handy. The undead hunter is good basicly for his immune to level drain, but there are easy to acquire things that do the same thing (amulet of power, mace of disruption, negative plane protection). So I would have to say the cavalier is a good bet especially if you get all the tomes in BG1 giving him uber str con dex etc. So I hope you have fun in your game, Good Luck.
