ok some of you may have already seen this over in the BG2 forum, but it seems that this is BG1 not 2:
Unfortunatly i dont have BG1 installed at the minute, but i was wondering if someone could load it up and tell me the EXACT quote at the beginning, the abyss quote.
Ive been looking through the internet and found MANY different versions of it, and ive forgot the name of Nietzsche's book that its from, so i cant look that way.
BG1's quote has something to do with monsters, the abyss quote is from BG2 only.
"To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." -Sun Tzu, the Art of War
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.
He who fights with monsters, should look to it that he himself doesn't become a monster... when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you...
-Friedrich Nietzsche
That's how it's excactly showed in the BG Introduction video
