HK factory

Post by Red Raven »

I got KOTOR 2 when it first came out for xbox, and flew half way around the galexy looking for the HK factory. only to learn a month later that the game makers didnt include the factory in the game. Needless to say I was disipionted, along with the ending.. I was wondering if there has been a updated version of kotor 2 for xbox, like they did for the first one with yavin space station. I would love to play the quest.

I have not heard any news, then again I have PC, so I dont actually look for that sort of thing.

I doubt they have... there, may, however, be a chance that they did, but Sundays are a slow day. I am only posting since I am work myself... :o

There won't be an updated version for two reasons:

Chris Avellone (the main writer of KotOR II) asked for permission to do a content patch to put cut material back in the game: LucasArts said no (confirmed in now deleted posts on the Obsidian forums; posts belonging the OE's John Morgan remain referring to this).

And, despite earlier PR claiming xbox live content for KotOR II, my understanding is that there will be no xbox live content: hence no patches or additional material.

Cut material is being added back into the game by the TSL Restoration Project. However, the project has this to say about the xbox in their FAQ:
Q: I have the XBox version of the game and a (legally) modded XBox - will your mod work on it?
A: At this point we're unsure. There are reports that new model files (.mdl's) - which the mod will likely contain - do not work on the XBox. After our work is completed we may look into creating a more fully compatible version for the XBox.
So, if you have a modded xbox, you may be in luck, but they won't know until they are finished. If you don't, you are sunk.
LucasArts in interview with GameSpy, September 2004
"We were hoping we could bring the Xbox platform into December but didn't want to make the formal announcement until we knew an earlier ship date would not compromise the quality of The Sith Lords," says Producer Mike Gallo.

Well, they might make one, but I haven't heard any news relating to in, and I wouldn't hold my breath for it (since you would probably die way too soon for it to happen). I don't really mind that they didn't include it myself, since it would be kinda boring fighting off all those HK-50's. I mean, by the time you reach your second planet, they're so easy that you have to fight them with T3. The only good thing I could see coming out of it would be a bunch of meatbag humour.

And hey, I think the ending is quite appropriate, because it (just like the game) was like The Bourne Identity, where all the pieces come together right at the end. Besides, throwing "you-know-who" into the core of "you know what" reminded me alot of Return of The Jedi.

Holy crap, two of you guys posted while I was writing mine :D
