Opening locked chests.

Just a quick question. What is the strength (roughly) required to open locked chests? My avenger in black bear form can open the majority of them, but I am curious if there is a magic number to aim for.

(By the way, the avenger is a pretty vicious character, never would have thought so.)

Bashing locks is completely broken in Shadows of Amn, there's a chart in the back of the manual that describes the chance of bashing (I think it refers to locks) but at 25 strength there's an 80% chance applied to it - which is undoubtably poor.

Actualy you can just pound the lock a lot and it still will finally open.This however might need way too much determination and time...

Umm, I dont think that is correct... I remember bashing at a lock for 30 minutes real time and nothing happened. Except for it still being locked.

EDIT: My strength was 18/00.
