The Best Price for Weapons

Post by Caius »

Can anyone tell me where I can get the best price on Master weapons -- specifically the Master Longsword and the Master Longbow?

I've drooling over them at the Guild weaponsmith, but it seems clear by the stats that they can be obtained for thousands less gold elsewhere.

Any help would be great!

Generally the wandering merchants sell items cheaply, try them.

...or you can always try to steal one. Provided you got enough guile.

I've haunted and hunted the wandering merchants -- their prices are much better, but I've still not found one that has either the Master Longbow or the Longsword...

I'll keep trying. Thanks!

This avatar is so entrenched on the light side he's got ghostly butterflies flitting about his head. He wouldn't steal a cupcake if he was starving.

I keep thinking I'll start another that's more devilish with higher guile. Maybe this is the time to do it...

Thanks.

Maxing the guile on a good hero is totally worthwhile, bud. You might not break in to people's houses or steal from them, but your guile DOES affect prices in merchant shops.

A little off topic, but I noticed you said you'd create one with better guile, meaning you didn't do much with the guile on your good character.

On topic, I think you can also purchase master weapons in Knothole Glade, among others. Once I killed Jack the first time, master weapons just didn't seem so special anymore, though. I think I killed him with an obsidian greathammer that had a few augments on it.

Now I'm using Solus and a legendary bow, the name of which I can't remember, and my damage is through the roof.

Don't waste your gold on master weapons, unless you truly want to customise your weapons with your own augmentations (and even then obsidian weapons are probably better value), rather, try to obtain a legendary weapon, it really isn't that hard.

SPOILER AHEAD

The first time you beat Jack of Blades you will end up with either the sword of Aeons or Avo's tear, which are both much better than any master weapon, and are arguably the most useful weapons in the game, as they provide the benefits of an experience augmentation, among others, and also hit almost as hard as it's heavier and slower legendary companions.
