*SPOILERS* SoU Help....please

Post by chitose-himura »

This is my first time posting here so please don't be mad at me if this is a stupid question... I really need help though.

So this is my first time atempting to play all the way through Shadows of the Undrentide, and of course, me being the artsey type, I was thinking about writing a fan fic about it. Unfortuenetly, a important character has been petrified. ._.

So I'm on chapter 2, the part after Huerodis petrifies you and your henchman and that Lizard guy makes you his slave. I can't get Xanos back to normal! Is there some kind of spell I can use, or do I have to complete something first? Can I even bring him back?

Quite frankley, I'm pretty lonley without him. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it a lot....

Welcome to the forums! I'm struggling to remember how that works. You definitely can get him back as a companion immediately, though. Have you tried Ointment of Stone to Flesh? (or comparable spell) That might do the trick.

Thanks for the welcome and the help! I didn't have the spell you said (stupid druid casting...) but I found a skin to stone scroll from the lizard dude and that got Xanos back to normal. Thanks again, now my friend doesn't have to listen to me complain anymore. XD

But are you supposed to get your henchmen back at this point? I did that with Deekin and we wandered off to try and kill the Guardians (BIG mistake). Deekin died (you know SotU, where it suggests you rename Deekin "Deekin Diesalot" - if I weren't such a nice character......) and I brought him back to life, but he trurned into a blue character and won't speak to me. I think I have another little bug. Or esle you're supposed to do this quest by yourself and you get your henchman back at the end?

Yes, it's another bug with my computer *sigh*. I had to restart anyway, because I died pretty quickly, and suddenly Deekin was talking to me again.

Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition
ASUS A8V Deluxe Athlon 64 Mainboard - 2000MHz SB, Dual LAN, IEEE 1394, SATA
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (939PIN)
Upgrade to 1024Mb PC3200 DDR (400MHz)
1.44MB Floppy Drive at
160GB Serial ATA (150Mb/s) Ultra Fast Hard Drive
Upgrade to 128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro All-in-Wonder
16x DVD-ROM Drive (40x CD-ROM)
Upgrade to the new Creative Soundblaster AUDIGY 2 ZS

Those are the specs, but due to problems with my computer I don't think stuff has been installed properly. NWN kep crashing on me, until I was told to de-install my graphics cards which then led to a broken computer, then I had to re-install them, which made it work. Sort of. I'm waiting until I can bear to be parted from my computer and then I'm getting the men out to repair it, which means it goes back to the manfacturer. But I;m not sure this is due to my computer, rather due to a bug?
