Thank you for help gargantua, but I was talking about the room in the basement where I'm supposed to get the ale. I can't get that door open (where finnegan (sp)) is behind the bar. Is that where book is too? Again thanks.
That's what I've been talking about too. Let it put me this way: First you'll have to steal that bracelet from a guy in the bar room. You give it to Rob (his first quest). You'll get a second one, the one with the ale. You go downstairs and meet Finnigan. There's a storage room with the ale in the same area - no locked doors. You give it to Rob and the locked door east of where you meet Finnigan is now open. Rob's room is most to the north and there you'll find the book with the holy dagger inside. Well as far as I can remember the storage room-door isn't locked. So try it again and let me know if it worked.
