Book Collection Quest

I have a problem with the book collection quest...
I have delivered some books to the teacher, enough to have gotten the bright wizard hat, but not enough to get the silver key.
I know I have books I haven't delivered to him, but he just keeps saying that he doesn't want "the book of spells."
I have used a hero save exploit to get another silver key instead, but I want to finish this quest

I can't give him my hero dolls either.

Did anybody else notice that the names of the orachles started with Y, M, C and A, and that expressions was just like the moves in the song by Village people?

Well , some books he doesn't want just like "the hierarchie of weapons"
I just grabbed all the books i could get from the guild library and i bought some from traders in darkwood. the rest i stole from houses.

I know I have other books I haven't given him yet, like creatures of the north, in fact I think I have all the books now, it's just that he keeps nagging about the book of spells like I didn't have any other books.
And I can't give him my hero dolls, are you supposed to select them from your inventory and then give them to hive him, or will they just be given to him when you approach him and press tab? Nothing works for me...

Strange i've given him al the possible crap books that he wanted from :

1) the guild
2) traders
3) looted books from houses
4) "find the archeologist" book collection : i think there where 5

He gave me the cool wizard hat and i've given him all the hero dolls afterwards.

This also happend to me were the "book of spells" came up all i did was go buy more books and gave them to him ... Also just incase you were wondering you can give him the sames books again.
And the hero dolls part of that quest you need all seven of the dolls if i can remember correctly there at.

Briar Rose - Bowerstone Tavern
Scarlet - Oakvale Tavern
Twin Blades - Bandit Camp Bar
Scyth - Snowspire Tavern
Maze - Hook Coast Tavern
Thunder - I think Knuthole Glade but i just bought it at the Arena
Wisper - cant remember

The best place to look are the Taverns in each town. And the hero doll of you dose not count towards the seven u need.

Oh, so the doll of me doesn't count, that might be the answer to that

I'm pretty sure I have found books that I haven't given to him though.

I'm pretty sure I have all the books needed, tried to buy some books I had given him before now, but "The book of spells, this isn't some potty school for wizards you know" I hate that line.
At least I finished the hero dolls quest.
I guess I'll just drop that book quest then, I don't need it anyway

I think I commented this in the first post in this thread, but I realized that I probably wouldn't get this key before I had done all the gold quests, so I hero saved when I had gotten the key in the lighthouse so I could get one extra from there.

You know, this quest has been driving me nuts as well. I too know that I have books that he will want but every time I talk to him he just says the thing about the spell book. Is there any way to get rid of books? Sell them somewhere or something, I dunno, am about ready to kill the school teacher at this point.

The headmaster only talks about the Book of Spells if you don't have any books that he wants. So you'll need to find more books. There are about 30 that you can donate.
