Nah, you probably just call them something different (Americans always have to have different names for things  :p ). Sultanas otherwise known as currents or raisins. Sounds any more familiar?

They put them in scones. Like they do with cherries.

Fine. Tuesdays' lectures should be some of the easier ones, mostly it's revision of the diagrams we did last year. So an hour lecture followed by a tutorial where we draw diagrams related to this kind of stuff:

http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Object_Ori ... rogramming

(Yeah, I'm still referring to it :D ) Though of course, it's better than the article suggests. :p ;)

You can explain scones to chu, right? :D
raisins are raisins....
They're also currants and sultanas. :D
These kind of things always have dozens of confusing different names... ;)

Here you go!! :D

Cream Scones with Currants

1 3/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon fine salt
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes and refrigerated
2 teaspoons finely grated orange zest
1/4 cup dried currants
1 large egg
4 to 5 tablespoons heavy cream or half-and-half

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add the butter and work it into the flour mixture with your fingers or a pastry blender, until it resembles a coarse meal. Stir in zest and currants.
In a small bowl, beat the egg and 4 tablespoons of the cream together with a fork. Add to the flour mixture and mix with your hands until the dough just comes together. (If the dough seems dry add the extra tablespoon of cream.) Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. Pat the dough into a 6-inch round about 1-inch thick. Cut into 8 equal sized wedges. Space the scones evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm.
Cook's Note: For a richer, darker crust, brush the tops of the scones with heavy cream and sprinkle with sugar before baking.

@Juni, actually, yes we did. But we had to wear when doing woodwork too, so it wasn't anything special. The school uniform apron, plain royal blue.

But it's the ingredients of the scones I had to make that were really weird...

@chu, NC in the Sterwick thread...

This was probably 7+ years ago. We had this unit on Cookery and we had to make scones. They may have provided the scones, but we had to add ingredients to them and do a survey to see what people wanted, that kind of thing. So, mine turned out an equal number of people who wanted cheese scones and those that wanted chocolate scones.
The teacher suggested mixing both ideas... :D

Apparently they didn't turn out too badly. I avoided tasting anything quite that strange, I think. :D

Some people put bubble-gum in them I think. Mix up blue stuff for scones. :p
Awww, come on i was gonna have fun with this!
You wanted to say something about me going around in a flowery apron cooking scones? :D

Did I kill the spamming?
