Can Someone help me with this... im just not clear on one thing, so when you trade meat lets say buy 50 and sell 50 , when your done trading you get strength exp? and with fish skill. Or do you have to have a CM? also to get a certain experience does it depend on what you trade?

No my friend , i think you mixed up some things.
If you buy/ sell 50 meat and you have a profit you will earn skill.
The skill earned by this will be multiplied by your current CM.

I told earlier that i buy everything so also meat , carrots and fish.
So if you eat these while having a big CM then you gain +5xCM experience on strength (meat) , skill (carrots) or will (fish)

So if you have a CM of 20 and you eat 5 pieces of meat ==> 500exp

Hope this explains it a bit

no,no,no,no

When you trade anything, you gain skill exp. Strenght is gained by consuming red meat, will by consuming fish, and this is where the cm steps in. For every red meat, fish, carrot ect, you gain certain skill 5 points when you eat them. Now, when you have cm lets say 26, one red meat gives you 5*26 strenght exp points=676 points

ooo so your gaining more experience from actually eating the meat and stuff afterwards with a high CM rather then just relying on trade cycles.
1) physical shield ==> used to get high CM
2) guile ==> earning tons of money + guile when buy/selling
3) red meat ==> for every red meat +5strength (with CM of 20 it's +100strength)
4) carrots ==> for every carrot +5skill (with CM of 20 it's +100skill)
5) fish ==> same but for will
Thats exactly what I do.

#2 kind of feels like cheating though. I just sell all my gems and buy them back and there is 75K profit right there.

As for #3-5, my guy is obese and probibly will be for a long time due to how much food I eat.
The wives seem happy though when I come home and have lost a little weight ^^

Exactly, I just saved up what I could and bought all the gems I could, and traded those back forth amongst the traders, I had so many gems I was making 500,000 gold per trade!

I don't see how it's an exploit if the merchants themselves tell you to do that...But it could be a flaw in the game itself, either way it's a good way to make money. ;)

dj_venom wrote:If you really think about it, exploiting a hole in the game is cheating. Of course guile was made to help you get a profit, but the aim of the game isn't to reach a million. The difference is, by using that program you save you, and your mouse, a heap of effort.

In my opinion, doing either of those methods ruins the game, as you should only play to fight, not by trading and then buying the best weapons.
First, such things do not come out without purpose. That's addressed to inquiring mind. Someone has to find that - and to be proud telling others.
The second, whatever you might pose or propose, cheat/exploit availability just adds to the sales. There's a entire class of gamers having even more fun in finding shortcuts, exploits and cheats than in the game itself (leaving out the mental and psychological reasons). So, if you like the game, pray it lets to cheat - otherwise it has to be very specific one, like CC, to stay on the market.
It's a feature, whatever you say. If you don't like it, leave it out. Otherwise declaring it as a thing "ruining the game" is just evidence of weakness of your morale and the character. :D

And, besides, i'd rather think about best character instead of a best weapon - if i really were a roleplayer. ;)

" Im say the poster cheated just stating my opinion thats all"
This isnt a cheat, the dude totally understand the game mechanics and is rightly so in posting it. Cheat is when you hit space bar 3x while reciting the alphabet and you are zoned to end bos or something. This post made stuff alot clearer to me. Ya I eventually had money at the end but by then I was an old man and the ladies wont even look at me, I want to be rich and famous AND young hahaha!!

Anyway, that Meat, Fish, Carrot thing...coupled with CM - crap I had no idea!
I knew what guile did but didnt know how useful it could really be.
Not only that, after playing through the game a few times, I dont want to be the stuggling hero - its better to fly through and get to the points where I want to try other paths in the story so thanks Cyph for explaining how these all tie into each other!

um..ok...im kinda new but i an opinion.
get a good wep and put at least 2 sharp aug. on it. at the part where u r chasing JoB for the focus sites, get to the 2nd or 3rd 1 in orchard farm. b4 this, get 400+will potions by buying & sleeping. at orchard farm, use physical shield, pull out ur sword, and murder everything you see. it will never stop spawning undead, minions, and screamers. the game is simple because the more damage u do, the faster your combat X rises. with my modified bereaver, and 3 sharpening augs on it, i was hitting 1600+. i got to 300 combat multiplier in 15 hits. it took me 2 hours, but i reached about 2000 combat X. i have beaten fable with good and bad pure mage, same for war,and same for ranger. also both good and evil masters.(maxed out everything). dang long post!!!

First off i hardly considered this a cheat or an exploit, its part of the game and how the supply and demand in the game was programmed. And their is no reason to max everything out in the game nor really ever a real reason to buy things just because you can find all the good stuff there ever is....

Two things seem to be considered parts of the game: Hero Saves and trading. The last due to ridiculous loot and inability to have more than one piece of each kind of armor or weapon (so no loot trade at all).
The Hero Save seems to me meant to be exploited as well - what if you fail on a mission? The fact that you keep what you've got until the save seems confirming that there was an intention, even encouragement to use that feature (because in light of reasons i mentioned it's actually even not an exploit).
The fact that using that feature too much may ruin your game (not because it becomes too easy but because it starts to crash) seems to be rather a bug than deliberate intention. That course wouldn't be considered a right way of action in particular societies (neither in general programing nor on game makers' communities).
