Discipline Dilemnas

Post by Chax »

Could have sworn I saw a thread about favourite/most useful disciplines, but I can't seem to find it now. Anyway, need some help deciding here:

Playing a Male Toreador, with Celerity 4, Auspex 2 and Presence 2. I've just finished the Warrens and gotten access to Chinatown. Celerity's been a godsend for quite some time now, but I'd like to know which of the other two are more useful to invest in. I mostly use ranged combat for the big baddies, with occasional melee for weak enemies, to conserve ammo.

If your going for ranged combat, I'd suggest auspex, because of the perception bonus. It is especially interesting with the sniping guns. But I'm heavily prejudiced against presence (I hardly ever use it).

If you go for melee then again presence is more useful than auspex.Nice to see how enemies are paralised later on.However,i think that you shouldn`t take either of them.Better take dodge or some social skill, but that is just my opinion.

always touched by your

presence.

presence is one of those disciplines that appears to have limited use - at low level it only seems mildy effective against gangs of human hoodlums. there are so many better places to put your points, that I never find out if at higher level it is much good.
auspex is useful both for vision and for shooting. it is pretty handy to know where enemies can be found and seeing in the dark is useful.

get that celerity to 5 - it is one of the best disciplines in the game. you can run around from enemy to enemy and toss them up in the air. melee at C5 is fun.
