This remark by Von Dondu in the amendment thread solved the riddle for me:

He says he stopped drinking when he turned 40, but one of his associates (probably the former FEMA director Michael Brown, who is one of the only people working for Bush who has lost his job) has told the press that President Bush is hitting the bottle again

I know he has some medical problems... so to be truthful... I'm actually somewhat concerned....

I just did. Hopefully hes alright, I dont know what his medical problems were though. He just said that their was a reason he didnt enjoy the doctors and went along talking about how the pills made him drowsy, ect.

Happy I only have had problems concerning surgery.

No, I haven't. I don't really know him very well, and I didn't want to intrude. I thought maybe he had some kind of reason for staying away, and I respect peoples' privacy.
But, at this point, it has been quite a long time since anyone seems to have seen him... and given how much he used to be around....

I'll send him a note sometime today..

Update

I tried sending an ecard to Magrus from Webshots ([url]http://www.webshots.com)[/url]. The reason I used an ecard is because you get a note from the site notifying you when/if the card is picked up.
I received an email from Webshots stating that the card I sent was "undeliverable."
Now, I sent it to the Hotmail account he has attached to his MSN ID (only email address I have for him), so it is possible he has let it lapse, or maybe his filters classed Webshots as spam.
But, I wanted to pass this along anyway.
