anomen question - possible spoiler

OK. Anomen did his quest, he had a little romance going on with my main character although not too serious (she was mainly neutral/supportive to him and convinced him not to kill Saerk etc.) So then when he gets news that his father is dead he goes back and whacks Saerk and the party had to help him because otherwise he would have gotten creamed and I hate to lose an NPC that I invested time on. Anyway, we bash Saerk and Anomen decides he is going away, far away, and I cannot find that little jerk to save my life! It's been a good 20 game days since then and I have seen nothing of him. Any ideas? Fortunately I don't need him right this minute, but he was pretty handy in a number of situations and I may need to dump Jahiera before long, so... help? Thank you!

You shouldn't have killed Seark. Don't remember the dialogue really, but there was a way to leave him alife and then Anomen stays with the party. (If you'll have him that is) I don't think there is a way to get him back now. But you could try the copper coronet, the order of the radient heart or his home.

Heh, I didn't have much of a choice. I did the dialogue every possible way and Anomen still took Saerk on, and Saerk wiped the floor with him every time. So I figured I would save Anomen, and then he disappeared. Too bad. Guess he's gone for good (I've looked at his home, Radiant Heart, and Copper Coronet.) Thanks for your help.

You got Anomen to go 'far away'? That is great! When I fired him in favor of Valygars he just went back to the Copper Coronet and I still have to look at him every so often. Perhaps he is in useless NPC pergatory with Cernd.

Not to make light of your situation, I understand you character is female and he is your only choice for a romance. Shame. Go back to an older game, you do save make archived saves?

Yeah, I do keep saved games, but it has been weeks since he disappeared and I just don't feel like doing all that stuff over again.

And you're right, Anomen is a pain in the neck and the most obnoxious character I had, but I thought he might make a better priest/fighter than Jahiera, who is serving that purpose at the moment, although since the Harper incident I am afraid I might lose her.

You will need to do some work to keep Jaheira, but she is worth it. She is much better than Anomen, IMHO.

there is a dialogue before he attacks the bad guy that you had to remind him he has to obey the law and let the authorities deal with it - even if you both feel its wrong - then he sticks with you - you get to loot the mansion and his alignment stays the same. Bad guy disapears - romance continues - though he does remain irritating.

Actually I do like Xan a lot, too bad he didn't get a place in BG2. I loved it when he made all those depressing comments.

My female protagonist convinced him to stay by telling him that he knew in his heart that killing Saerk was wrong. He stayed, but the romance ended. (At least it went into abeyance. No developments during the underdark or even since my return some five days ago.) But this might be because my female protagonist hired a gigolo in the copper coronet. Does that terminate a romance (she asked sweetly)?

I belive that,sometimes the romance lines have to end since it would be imposible to put lines for the entire game time, after that you probly still get the "reverse vampirism" quest dialoge. the romance does not end,you just dont get more dialoges from him.
None complains from Jaheira since the romance is a very long to get the ending. something that sould be fix in the expantion.
