Help! I need to make a choice: Deathlord or Shaolei Master...
I am back from saving the Knight from the slaver and rescuing the Master from the eastern guy... I am a marauder and a monk (Ninjitsu Rules! took out 2 dragons with Ninjitsu alone! oh... wards of fire also...)
so, now the fighter's guild offers me deathlord class (I've done that, but inflict wounds is awesome and the heavy armor and shields are nice) however, the house of Dragon offers me Shaolei Master class that comes --with "Critical Strike" i.e. "one-hit one-kill" skill... I would love to try that out, but I don't want to go there if it is a "buggy" skill - i.e. like "repair" or "eagle-eye" it is just on paper - not really in the game... does anyone know if that is the case with Critical Strike? Anyone? Many humble thanks in advance!
Damn Snakes! (I might change my name, I think I hate bats and spiders worse now...)

ok... I think I understand now...
Is the reason no one comments on critical strike is because it is impossible to become a Shaoeli Master?
I have traveled to the Vale of Ruin 3 times now and fought with the Ninja Lord that I have to beat to complete the Shaoeli Master quest, and all 3 times the computer completely locks up in the middle of the battle...
I have a new Dell gaming system (my wife calls it my $2000.00 deck of cards) so I don't think it is the computer's fault...
so, a bug? or am I the only one interested in this issue...
maybe I should post on being lost in Arindale or something...

Hey Damn snakes, spiders, bats (and bees?)
Some time ago Jeremy (mod) over on dream catcher wrote this about critical strike.
"It's really designed to finish off monsters, but will work differently depending on the creature and weapon type. For example, you may be able to kill a lesser foe like a goblin with a crit strike on the first hit, but generally, for larger creatures you'll need to wait until they're down to about a third of their health for it to kill them in one shot. This was done to balance the skill so that you can't walk up to a boss fight and wipe out the boss on your first or second hit."
Don't know about your problem in the Vale. Is it possible that you have a program trying to start in the background? This will cause your game to crash. I've never fought that boss so I don't know but I would guess there's something going on with your computer not the game in this case. D

Thanks for the reply... I did beat that boss... I had to set the spawn rate to less - turn down the detail - I guess with the boss and I both doing ninjitsu, both summoning help, both casting spells, and other stuff (trees and chunnelers) showing up during the battle, my computer was just unable to handle it all... (and Norton Antivirus popped up sometime during all this...)
well, I have critical strike and it works like a charm against small stuff (wolves and goblins) but I only have it at level 6 (need more points)
I don't expect to slap a dragon and watch it die... but it does make short work of damn snakes etc
I will let you know how it works when I have it up to level nine or ten
(I haven't been to any dungeons yet... I guess I am off to the naga temple... no mowing today thanks to Wilma...)

well, I now have "critical strike" up to level 11 - LOTS of exp points used -
and how effective? I really don't notice much... the easy critters still die easy - the hard monsters may die faster, but I don't see much in the way of "one-hit one-kill" anywhere in this game... however... Ninjitsu RULES!!!!
